Today’s question is, “What does my Facebook profile look like to the public?”
Facebook has more privacy options than controls in a modern airplane. Fortunately, they have a “View Profile As” tool that helps.
Click on your name in the top toolbar, then click the three dots here on the right. Select the “View As” option, the page will refresh and you will see a black bar at the top.
This shows your profile the way that anyone on Facebook would see it. Scroll through your timeline and make note of anything that you might want to change in your privacy settings.
If you want to see how your profile looks to one of your Facebook friends, click the “View as Specific Person” and then type in their name. If you happen to use Lists for specific privacy settings, try viewing your profile as different people from those lists. You can click back to the “View as Public,” or if you are done, click the X icon on the left of the black bar to return to your profile as normal.
And that is another “Ask Howard” Quick Tip.
