As a way to keep up with Facebook, Twitter has added automatic playback of videos. Let me show you how to disable this new feature.
From the main Twitter screen, click on your profile icon in the top right, then click “Settings” from the drop-down. In this main “Account” screen, look in the “Content” section for the “Video Tweets.” Uncheck the box for “Video Autoplay,” and then click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
For the mobile app, tap the “Me” button in the bottom right. Then tap the gear icon next to your profile icon, and then tap “Settings.” Look in the “General” section, tap the “Video autoplay” option, and then choose “Never play videos automatically.” Now back out of this screen, and then click “Done” on the top right to save your changes.
